What do students learn in Source Pro?

In Source Pro, students learn how to take an idea from concept to polished product using the most in-demand skills for software engineers.

About the final project

This semester, Source Pro students worked on a project of their choice to build a dynamic website that connected to a database. This involved learning the Python framework Flask and how to use and integrate a SQL database. Throughout the semester, they built mini projects, like a Wordle clone, and learned how modern websites operate at scale. The culmination of this was their final project, in which they tied in all the skills they picked up through the semester.

Voting Rules: You may vote for as many projects as you'd like but you should only submit 1 vote for each project per day.

rfplannr: Roadfood Trip Planner

Map-based tool to browse and filter over 1,000 diners, small-town cafes, seaside shacks, drive-ins, and barbecues featured in Jane and Michael Stern's Roadfood series of books. Zoom in on your area of interest, use keyboard commands to remove extraneous locations, and export a permalinked table view with address details to guide your trip. Implemented in Python and JS with Flask, SQLite, and Leaflet.
