Ignite is a 10-week course on civic entrepreneurship and the art of civic engagement. This class will teach you that civic engagement goes beyond voting. This course leaves political ideology at the door, and is centered on values-driven policy solutions.

Since policy is everywhere, the knowledge and skills acquired in this course is applicable to any real-world field. We will cover the fundamentals of the policymaking process at the local, state, and federal level. You will learn research, strategy, communications, and more through creative, hands-on projects.

Brendin will be your guide in learning civic entrepreneurship this spring. Brendin is a Forge member, UVA graduate, and took Forge courses himself when he was in school.

Our student teaching model means our courses are constantly changing and improving, enabling you to learn skills that are more up-to-date than what you might learn in a typical classroom.

It also means we can be better mentors and guides for you. We know where you might get stuck and how to guide you through those challenges because we've been in your shoes before. And we know what makes a lesson fun (or extremely boring), so we always design programs that we'd want to participate in ourselves.
